Profile-and-Your-Account

This section will take you through the process of creating your account and profile and choosing your settings. As you have read in the SMHelper Basics, with an SMHelper account you can track and follow social media references made about clients, prospects, and people of interest.

Note: Before you create your account you can view the demo by clicking on the Demo button on the home page

1. How do I create an SMHelper Account?

To create an SMHelper account, type http://www.smhelper.com/ into your browser or click on this URL http://www.smhelper.com/?page=register to take you straight to the registration page. On the home page, there are three links that you can use to register and create an account. The links are "Registration" in the top panel, "Register" in a blue panel on the right-hand side and "Join" on the left panel.

Clicking on one of the links will take you to the page below.

Input your email address and password to register. Remember, for SMHelper to function in salesforce.com, the email address you give has to match your salesforce.com account email address, but the password should be original, not the same as for your salesforce.com account.

2) How will I know that my account has been created?

Once you have input all the required information and clicked on the "Register" button, the screen below will appear. An email with confirmation instructions will be sent to your registered email address. Check your email's inbox, and if it is not in the inbox, check for the confirmation mail in the spam/junk box.

For your SMHelper account to be active, please click on the link that has been sent with your confirmation email, or copy the link provided in the email and paste it in your browser. Once you have confirmed your email, you can login and work on your profile.

2) How do I manage my subscription?

Once you login, the following page will be displayed.

This tells that you need to activate your subscription. You can either do it by clicking on the "Manage Subscription" link in square brackets or the "Subscription" link in the menu. You also need a PayPal account to subscribe. You can change the subscription to be just you or you and the number of users who will be part of this subscription. Once you have done that, click on the PayPal button to pay the amount of money indicated after changing your subscription type. Once you have paid, your subscription status will change to active. To change your subscription model (for example, if you want to add two more users) you have to unsubscribe from your current subscription by clicking on the "Unsubscribe" button as shown below

3. How do I manage Users?

Please note that you can manage users on the same page, if you have more than one user. You will notice that when you click on the drop down list at "Change Subscription" and select more that one user (for example, from me to me and one user) there will be a new price and additional information on adding the new user's email, which should be the SalesForce.com account email. You can add as many users as you wish, and you can remove users. To remove users, click on the "Remove" button next to the user's email address

The users that have been added will receive an email notification telling them to activate their passwords. In order to use the account they have to follow the link provided in the email. This will take them to the page below, where the user will have to activate his/her new password.

After inputting the new password, repeating it, and clicking on the "Activate button", he/she will be taken to a login page where he/she will login with the new password.

The user's page only allows him/her to "Manager Alerts", seek "Help" and view "Profile"

4. What can I do at my profile settings?

You may want to receive updates in your email or receive Salesforce task updates. To trigger them, you can choose settings for your account, by clicking on the check boxes next to them on the profile screen. If you do not want to receive any updates, you can uncheck the boxes. (See the screenshot below)
